This film has been in development for some time and in fact was filming at the same time as the Friday the 13th reboot. Blood Ties offers an homage to 80′s slasher fare and in fact the producer has even mentioned that certain elements and scenes were created in honor of the original Friday the 13th movies. Now, this movie is finally getting a DVD release soon, so check out the plot below and keep an eye out for Blood Ties: The Legend of Hammerhead appearing at a Redbox or Netflix near you.

The woods of Wing Brook, Kentucky, hold a deep dark secret, folks around the area would rather forget. It’s a tale, written off as folklore. But those who ignore it, soon become part of it. It’s origins, unknown. It’s motives, uncertain. And it’s name legendary… HAMMERHEAD.   more…

German site BluRay-disc.de posted up some news about the upcoming Blu-Ray release of the Alien Anthology. One of the fears from fans about the release is that the box set would also contain both Alien vs Predator movies. Well, that fear can be laid to rest as an advanced copy of Minority Report that was sent out in Europe shows a short teaser commercial for the new Alien box set. That teaser mentions the following, “das Boxset die Filme „Alien“, „Aliens – Die Rückkehr“, „Alien 3“ und „Alien – Die Wiedergeburt“.

Also, www.blu-ray.com is reporting that a new sound mix has been completed for the extended edition of Alien 3, which involved bringing back some of the cast to reloop their dialogue! Alien 3 is a favorite of mine and I am very happy to see attention being paid to the vastly underrated movie. Lets wait for more detail to develop.

Welcome back to all those fascinated with the dead. Tonight, we shamble over to a very lonely corner of this tomb riddled ground in an attempt to sate your morbid curiosities. The sleeping remnants of this long since deceased shell of the living lies beyond even the simply forgotten. More than looked over and seen only by the few, the contents held in this piece of earth was deemed forbidden. After you’ve wiped the simple stone of it’s dirt and neglect, the poorly indented letters of this marker read; The Last Shark.

I’m always on the lookout for something that I’ve missed or something finally resurrected from obscurity that boasts exploitation and a promise of shocks. So, when I happened upon a little flick that said depraved unholy nunsploitation and psycho killers were to be coupled, there was just no other option than to view. With this choice came the sweet lust for cinematic brutality, and a certain level of disappointment.

Afterdark Horror Fest 2010  Format:  DVD
The following eight films were from this years film fest. The Fest has been running for a number of years now and below you can find each film that was included for this years event.

 Zombies of Mass Destruction
An idyllic island town is under attack by that most invasive of pests: zombies! Port Gamble is being overrun with braineaters, and the people seem powerless to stave them off. But wait, a rag tag band of rebels is trying to turn the tide and push the invading hoards of undead back. It sounds familiar, sure, but this time stereotypes are on parade (and parody) in a retake on the zombie thriller.
