As we get closer and closer to the release of The Wolf Man, many websites have been paying tribute to the Lon Chaney Jr. masterpiece and the classic Universal Monsters that paved the way for horror movies as we know them today. I figured I would kick off our own tribute at Benevolent Street slowly by showcasing The Wolf Man’s influences on merchandising, television, music and beyond.

So, today I wanted to point out a truly spectacular mask that was created by The Prop Shop, simply known as the Wolfmask. This prototype has been shown in it’s early stages of production over the course of the last couple of months and the end result is astonishing. The mask keeps the classic look from the 1941 movie, but adds a vicious and modern flare that truly makes you believe that it really could howl at the moon.

At any rate, if you are interested in owning this unique mask that harkens back to the old school days of classic fright, check out the auction going on right now. Good luck to those who throw their hat in to buy this awesome piece of art!

Too rich for my blood, but it is pretty damn cool.

  2. Yes, expensive. However, for people that collect these for a hobby they know they are getting into this price range. I know that I would never afford this mask. I’ll save my money for a really good hockey mask. ;)
