A Nightmare on Elm Street is a classic that has been written about time and time again. Good or bad, the ground has been covered. Freddy is a pop culture icon and recognized the world over. Endless marketing, multiple sequels, television spin-off, mounds of memorabilia and toys, you name it and Freddy has done it (even shitty albums). Now, the house that Freddy built (New Line) has decided to squeeze a little more out of the creepy man from the dark side of our eyelids. The “reboot” is here whether we like it or not.

The Nightmare series is third on my list of the big three slasher/horror icons from the 80′s. Friday the 13th and then Halloween are number one and two. That being said, I find Freddy to be a big part of my movie watching experience as a kid in the late 80′s. I own every movie and know everything within the movies that you can know. I am no die hard, however, and I am sure there are those types of fans that could put me to shame with trivia inside and outside of the films themselves.

I am very excited for the remake of A Nightmare of Elm Street. I think that this movie could really start a new franchise for Warner Bros. I know they are hoping for it and so is Platinum Dunes. To commemorate the release of the film, The Prop Shop has created a beautiful mask/bust representing Freddy from the new reboot. The detail is stunning and a lot of work has gone into it’s detailng. So, if you’re fan of the series, check out the photos of the mask below and get yourself a perfect glimpse of Freddy before he is unleashed again April 30th!  more…

As the marketing blitz begins this week, the German website moviegods.de posted some new photos from the film. Most are clearer photos in HD that are from scenes shown in the teaser trailer. However, I am really excited to see this new twist on the film classic. I know a lot of people that are not happy to see this movie happening, but the original is dated.

The new poster premiered at the movie’s myspace page this morning and the trailer will hit the same myspace page at 12:01 am PST Thursday. Check out the new poster afte the break.

Check out the screen shots below. I am very excited about this movie and think this could rival Platinum Dunes’ Texas Chainsaw remake as their best film ever.

Bloody-digusting let us know earlier today that  all you have to do is hop over to your local theater and check out the Woody Harrellson zombie comedy “Zombieland” when it hits theaters on October 2nd. Zombieland looks quite entertaining. It’s the story of a small group of people who have schooled themselves in the art of surviving the zombie apocalypse. Having the “Nightmare” trailer attached to the front of this film is simply an added bonus!

“A Nightmare on Elm Street” is a retelling of the original 1984 film about Child murdering dream demon Freddy Krueger who gets revenge on those who burned him alive by finding a way to come back and off their kids in their dreams as they sleep, directed by Wes Craven and starring Robert Englund.
